Extend Capabilities

As the financial compliance and fraud risk environment evolves and becomes more challenging, we have found that off-the-shelf solutions don't provide a set of capabilities that cover all major fraud and compliance requirements. Solutions may need customization and extensions to align with the business requirements and technical constraints. The need for extensions to existing platforms is driven by two major phenomena.

First, the fraud and compliance environment that our clients are working in is extremely dynamic. Fraud threats can change quickly and as our clients introduce new ways for their customers to move money in an out of accounts – whether a traditional current account or new virtual wallets – establishing and extending a platform to control the fraud and compliance risks associated with new transaction activity needs to be done quickly and economically. Many financial institutions are increasingly looking to establish an agile infrastructure in which new detection and surveillance capabilities can be created, tested and deployed in time frames that are faster than those associated with traditional enterprise software-only approaches.

Second, fraud and compliance platforms provide an extraordinary range of capabilities based on requirements from many different clients. The problem this creates is that they only come in one “size”. Actual business requirements that support the intricacies of fraud and compliance operations and the nuances of surveillance requirements specific to a particular business often require that the platform be extended. Some capabilities, such as rule simulation and even rapid migration, may not be supported out of the box at all.
